Then to arrive and have Doris and Joe be so helpful in set up and hauling stuff and Sandra checking in to see if we needed anything else. Then the kitchen comfort team ministered to us through beautiful Sonia and delicious food prepared lovingly: Janet & Linda/butter tarts! Yum!

We are planning to be back next year from Sept. 17-22 and will happily give a deposit. Once again we will have to give it in installments – October, March and July.  We would, however, like confirmation on the 2011 cost of facility use, meals and rooms, as we need this for our budgeting and planning in the coming year. There will likely be a similar number of students. We are prepared to book the same week every September for the next 10 or more years.

I can never thank all of you enough for everything that you have done for me over this last year and a half. The time and effort that you have put into me and helping me achieve some goals while I have been here. Well there just isn’t a value that I can put on that.

We will be expanding our operation as early as the spring of 2011.

Development plans are underway to build 6 lakefront townhomes on either side of the Lodge overlooking the lake.  Another 6 townhomes are planned for the ravine on the north east crest of the property.  18 townhomes in all to complete Phase I of the new and improved look to include a residential plan so that the many who have inquired over the years to live on this beautiful property can be realized. Corporate name to be “The Residences at Cedar Lodge.”

Below is a picture of Cedar Lodge from across the lake.

To the right as you look at the picture you can see some cabins.  The cabins closest to the lake are situated on the land where at least 6 townhomes will be built.  To the left of Cedar Lodge there are no structures; however, you can see a steep hill rising up to a flat area and this is where 6 townhomes will be placed, 4 facing the lake directly and 2 on the end of the crest facing north east.

Currently, there are no obstacles to building where there are presently cabins.

This property is grandfathered and therefore, there is no hesitation in allowing us to remove these structures and replace them with new, modern and exciting accommodations for the discerning buyer. We have shared these ideas with Town Council and they are excited about the future at Cedar Lodge.

This land has an exceptional view.  At present the Navy League of Canada owns the property to the north and then the Y Camp beyond that.  Each of these properties are used in the training of the use of various watercraft including sailboats, kayaks and canoes and cause no distraction other than the beauty of these varieties of vessels sailing around the lake.

This beautiful rolling landscape is filled with wildlife and wonderful birds. The view is to the east and the sunrises are spectacular.  In the heat of the day, you have the south eastern view, so one can remain cool while enjoying the day. Plans include walkways throughout the ravine enhanced by the natural lay of the land … picnic tables and park benches will allow you to enjoy the area to the fullest and one can walk through the ravine to the lake itself.

These cabins to be removed and replaced with the most beautiful and quality crafted townhomes.  It may not look like much from this photo, but please do visit us and have someone show you around the property, walk the land itself, and you will see that this is a most excellent spot.  The townhome will be built into the side of the hill, and the bottom level of your home will have access to your own dock and boat slip.

You will note that there is a row of cabins on higher land than the 3 cabins presently closest to the lake.  The higher row will be replaced with similar architecturally designed structures with some additional townhome units as well as an administration building for the Lodge itself and the developing area, a coffee shop, a small restaurant plus some specialty shops for visiting clients.

All townhome owners will have a special access package to Cedar Lodge and its facilities; a fully upgraded and brand new swimming pool, saunas, jacuzzis, weight room and exercise facility, gymnasium not to mention the ability to partake in wonderful dinners during special events.

THE NEW FACE OF CEDAR LODGE

Renovations to the Lodge will include in every suite a refreshing new makeover, some double suites, all new carpets throughout, an entirely new serving area, all new furnishings in every suite, every meeting room, the Great Room, all new windows, new decks from the middle floor overlooking the lake, all new theatre accessories, boating equipment and cruisers to rent with leisure boats to take a group around the lake and back, a beautiful new rec center which will include state of the art swimming pool, saunas, jacuzzi, the exercise room will be enhanced and modernized, the gymnasium will be equipped with wall climbing apparatus, sports equipment, a fully modernized kitchen and staff room, a new apartment complex for staff, 2 outdoor tennis courts, a golf green for putting practice, a driving range … and so much more.  Additions to the main building to provide additional meetings rooms and more guest suites will start to take shape in 2011.  Stay tuned to our site, visit us often and watch the metamorphosis take place.  It is going to be EXCITING !!!

AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING … witness as 2010 begins the process and 2011 starts making standout changes.  Main upgrades to be completed by 2013.  Further outbuildings, a seniors complex, administration building and small indoor mall are planned.

Over the years, so many miracles have happened at Cedar Lodge, stories of recovery, healing, reconciliation and deliverance.  Suzanne is in the process of writing her second book which is to contain just some of the encounters with freedom that visitors have had because of their journey to this very special place.  The following is a recent accounting by Elaine Cook, whose website is www.kingdomgospel.net.  Elaine has been in ministry for decades and is the absolutely one of the most precious of saints to have ever visited Cedar Lodge.  You can find this transcript at her website under her October 09 Newsletter.

It is not uncommon for a person to walk all of her life under the shadow of false messages given to her from a child. After a while, she takes them to be the truth and acts accordingly. I have a dear friend who had such a problem, though I never knew the depth of it until recently.

We felt led of the Lord to visit our new-found friend, Suzanne Olaski of Cedar Lodge in Saskatchewan, Canada, a two-day drive from here. Although Bill wanted to go, at the last he didn’t feel he could sit that length of time in a car. When I looked to the Lord as to what to do, He dropped Carol’s name into my heart. She is a faithful friend from Spokane and was delighted to drive me and to spend time together. She also is a terrific driver.

On the road there and back and while we were there, she shared deeply from her heart. It took that long to be able to express what she needed to say. It was then that I realized that she walked under the shadow of the false message: “I’m not worthy to be loved.” In truth, she is lovely, kind, and deeply spiritual.

The enemy had convinced her that others were thinking she was ignorant. She became so confused and upset that she was unable to express herself clearly when she spoke.

She was so lovingly received by all at Cedar Lodge that she began to be able to speak smoothly, which greatly encouraged her.  She told me that, for the past two months, her body seemed to be shutting down. It didn’t want to receive food and she struggled to eat at every meal.

It wasn’t until we were on our way home after a delightful visit, that the Lord gave me ‘light’ on her problem. She had started giving her body the message: “I’m not worthy to live” and it responded by shutting down!

I’m pleased to report that she broke the power of that lie through prayer and took hold of her acceptance in the Beloved. A big part of her deliverance was recognizing that she had believed a lie all those years! The enemy of our soul doesn’t have to come to us in a gargoyle costume—he just needs to insinuate a thought into our minds (as he did with Eve) and if we do not recognize the origin of it, we are caught in his web of deceit! I encourage each one who reads these words, to check your thoughts which can come from any of three sources: our own mind, the mind of Christ, and the enemy’s mind.

We should know that neither we nor the Lord are going to say evil things about ourselves nor accuse our friends of doing so. (One saint said: “What other people think of you is none of your business!”)

Only the accuser of the brethren would do such a dirty deed and do it so subtly that we would believe him!

My friend has returned to life and her body is responding and her speech is smooth because she now believes the truth: she is accepted in the Beloved!

Elaine Cook challenges us by saying “Are YOU believing a lie?”

My very favourite time every year at Cedar Lodge is the gathering up of the flocks of snow geese that land on Blackstrap Lake.  In mid October, one can spot what appears to be a ‘snow cap’ on the water at the north end of the lake, but in fact, it is the beginning of the gathering of the geese for their migration to the south.

After they have spent often many hours on the lake, they will fly over Cedar Lodge and visit various farmlands within a radius of about 4 kms.  Each stop they make, they meet up with more and more of their fellow geese and after a day of landing and eating and lifting and soaring they make their way … a larger group now … again to the north end of Blackstrap Lake.  This time the ‘snow cap look’ on the lake has increased to about double the previous day.

The following day, the same routine, until a larger and larger flock has developed and when the snow geese finally leave Blackstrap Lake for the trek south, as they pass over Cedar Lodge, their passing can take up to 35 minutes, so many in number are they.

Yesterday, (October 21st) I heard them in a neighbour’s field making a tremendous noise … they were several quarter sections south. We took the truck down the back roads and came to their feeding spot.
