Fishing …

at Blackstrap Lake is lots of fun, both winter and summer. Fun for the whole family !

I’m not sure if this dog is looking out for fish or ducks!!

Fish in the lake include pike, perch, pickerel, walleye and white fish – you may even catch some others, but these are the main varieties.

There is a boat launch at the Provincial Park at the more southern end of the lake, with a pass UNDER the causeway that will allow you to come back to Cedar Lodge and hitch your boat to our dock.  The Navy League of Canada is the next property north of us, then the Y Camp and a little farther down the lake is the Saskatoon Sailing Club – each of these brings a variety of water craft to the lake all summer long.

Duck Hunting at its Finest!

Be prepared to see more information on this site as we upgrade to keep you posted regarding seasons, costs, varieties of birds and animals, migration patterns and more to enable you to have a most successful shoot.

With OVER FORTY PERCENT of North America’s duck population hatched in the wetlands of Saskatchewan, this is where it all begins!!

And Cedar Lodge is one of the most excellent spots to land for your hunting experience. The Lodge has the perfect atmosphere for your home away from home attitude. Home cooking, down home hospitality no matter where you hail from. Fireside corner, magnificent decks overlooking the lake and the skies where you can watch the geese fly in for miles. If geese are not your speciality, the deer meander over our 75 acres in the hundreds and moose very much in the vicinity.

We can make arrangements for your special guide to take you on a most unique experience, one worth remembering for years to come. We hear over and over again, “we will be back” and there is no doubt you will feel the same. Call ahead for bookings as our seasons fill up very quickly.
